New Release: Eli Marcus: Dovid Hamelech: Video

It’s fresh, it’s fun and it’s totally fabulous. What is it? The long awaited debut album from Eli Marcus, the youngest member of the Marcus family. The album, entitled Dovid Hamelech, features the compositions of Yossi Green, with contributions from Yitzy Waldner and Elie Schwab. On board for the arrangements is world renowned musical director and producer, Shai Bachar. Marcus’ name is familiar to many within the Jewish music scene. An in demand wedding singer and performer, Eli has been working on the wedding scene for over six years. On his new album, Marcus offers a vibrant spin on classical Jewish music, imbuing the songs with his innate creativity and his unique sense of style. “He has a youthful, fresh energetic sound as well as a classy mature side to him,” added Avraham Fried, who describes himself as a proud uncle. “You get the impression that Eli is a seasoned performer when really this is only his first CD.” Every composition on David Hamelech was hand-picked. “This project is literally a dream come true,” said Marcus. “The opportunity to work with Yossi Green, a major childhood musical influence and hero, is just unbelievable beyond words.” The album has a unique feel thanks to the production, done by Eli and Bachar. “This album was made with musicians who are like a family and have been working together for 15 years" Said Bachar. “Eli's vast musical talents are astounding,” said brother Bentzy Marcus of 8th Day. “He can play, sing, compose, arrange, all with an amazing sense of style and ‘hartz.’ It's a real gift to Jewish music fans to have an artist like this come on to the scene.” Cousin Benny Friedman admits to being very excited for Marcus’ album debut. “Eli is that perfect blend of high energy, great musical talent and superb vocal chops,” said Friedman. “He's the real deal and he is getting ready to blow your socks off!”

Benny Friedman: New Release: Bnei Heicholo

Benny Friedman to Release Shabbos Album On the heels of his mega-hit "Yesh Tikva", Benny Friedman was hard at work on a follow-up album of original songs. But a phone conversation with a friend and fan set a different project in motion. This special project is reaching its final stages and in the coming weeks, the popular singer will release "Bnei Heicholo: A Shabbos with Benny Friedman", produced by Sruly Meyer, arranged by Avremi G. and recorded and directed by Ian Freitor. For some added flavor, Benny has also teamed up with the Yedidim choir, whose golden touch adds a splendid dimension to the entire album. Bnei Heicholo leads listeners on a musical tour through Shabbos, from the joy of Friday afternoon’s preparations to the serenity of candle lighting and right on through Havdala’s soft nostalgia. "I've dreamed of a Shabbos album for years," Benny explains. "And recently, between Yesh Tikva, concerts and the heavy work on the upcoming original album, we stopped for Shabbos, as it were." Yonatan Razel- Free Mp3 Sampler

Nigun Belz is the second single from Yonatan Razel's new CD. Just five
years after he released his debut album, “Sach Hakol” has reached the status of GOLD and the sales has surpasses 30,000 CDs. After the huge success of the song “Vehi Sheomdoh” which was released in 2008 by singer Yaakov Shwekey. Razel returns to work with Eviatar Banai and is currently finishing recording his second album to be released in the next few weeks. The new album will include 10 including songs penned songs and melodies and texts from the scriptures. “This melody” says Razel “has always touched me, it is a gift something that has rested for a moment, takes you back up and up again and again”. “When we recorded the album, I had a thought suddenly to re-introduce this song to the musical world I grew up in, the world of classical music”. It started as meditation and slowly caught “size” although this result is still perceived as a kind of “anecdote” – but anyway, baruch Hashem it is joyful and refreshing.
