GERMANY: Thumbs It's Nose At Returning Stolen Art!

Germany is telling Peter Sachs, whose father's collection of 12,500 posters were ripped off by the Nazi's: tough luck! The special German panel ruled against returning this art collection valued between 10 to 50 million dollars. The panel cited a letter from the man's father and a 1960s-era compensation payment as grounds for keeping them in Germany.

We must not allow this dreadful, blatent, anti-semitic action by the Germans to go unchallenged.

My revulsion at the current neo-con fascist lobby is only matched by my revulsion at the continued anti-semitism openly displayed in Germany.

I hope some wealthy honourable person, Mr Lauder perhaps, will fund a legal action against the Germans until every stolen, looted work of art is returned to the rightful owners, or heirs.

At this time of year, when Holocaust memorial day approaches, I am overcome with emotion and find comfort from reviewing the noble contributions Jewish people have made, and continue to make to honest descent democratic societies around the world.

I wear my support for Israel, like my heart, on my sleeve.
