EJP reports about a British woman whose son was not allowed to attend the JFS school in London . The reason her son was snubbed...Not money, not grades, but religion. The Chief Rabbi, Jonathan Sachs had decided that she was unable to provide evidence that she had kept Jewish laws during or after the conversion (which took place in Israel) and that he had found "procedural irregularities" in the Israeli process.
The case caused deep controversy in the British Jewish community. Although leading orthodox rabbis supported Sach's decision, the wider community were less accepting.
A very sad state of affairs indeed. The article seems to say they never should have looked into the conversion and now that the Beth Din is investigating the conversion, the outcome will not be a happy one for this family . This is because the conversion was almost surely not done in accordance with proper halacha. Now that the cat may be out of the bag more trouble is on the horizon. The snubbed woman may start suing all people involved in this decision. Can't we all just get along?!

I wouldn't call it unhelpful since if onw would want to read the whole article the link is there for your reading pleasure. I was just bringing out the point that she was not able to have her child go to a school becuase of a conversion issue. Thanks for pointing out the rest of the story out. As I'm sure you realize I can only talk about what I read.
