Putting Ahmadinejad on Trial for Crimes of Genocide

Just a short time after the a government-sponsored Holocaust denial conference in Tehran, a push for a trial of Mohamed Ahmadinejad was already underway.

Ahmadinejad’s incitement violates the 1948 UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, speakers said. The Dec. 14 event at the New York County Lawyers’ Association was organized by the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. It seems that Alan Dershowitz is leading the fight on some level as he stated “We will try the law. We will try politics. We will try everything but if they fail, we will use self defense.” It seems unlikely that the UN will cooperate with this trial and bring this madman to justice. If anything it will bring more attention the current problem we have in Iran, a threat that must be taken very seriously or the consequences will be disastrous.
