As many of you may know one of the contestants on the Apprentice is a HAFTR graduate. I'm speaking of Lee Bienstock who along with YU graduate Daniel Brody are the only orthodox Jews to ever make it onto this show. But I digress, HAFTR is now creating a party in Lee's honor. An alumni bash of sorts but here is the funny part: Lee will not be there!Evidently the whole idea was to createa big PR piece to bring more recognition to a school that is financially on it's last leg. Personally I would have no issue if this party was to be a fund raiser of sorts but it's not. It sounds like it will cost some money and I'm wondering how with their current financial issues, they can splurge on a party like this. Do they really think this will bring in more students? I can see their new brochure now:Come to HAFTR and you too may end up working for the likes of Donald Trump! Unfortunately the real truth is, this fluff PR will little if any impact on the dwindling number of students currently coming through their doors. It's a real pipe dream and it just shows how fiscally irresponsible they are. I can only hope that the teachers and faculty have sent their respective resumes to other schools because it's all going to hit the fan at some point.
