Bloomberg reports that Ariel Sharon has formaly resigned as head of the Likud Party. Looking to dissolve the parliament and make way for new elections.
Sharon's new organization, which he named the National Responsibility Party, may take 28 seats in the 120-member Knesset, allowing him to set up a new coalition with Labor and other parties that support withdrawal from the West Bank and Palestinian statehood, according to a poll conducted by Mina Tzemach and published Nov. 18 in the newspaper Yediot Aharonot. The poll, which had a 4.5 percent margin of error, predicted that Likud would win 18 seats.
