The difference between secular and religous Jewish folk music

Israel today discusses some of those differences. The article explains that most religious Jewish folk music originated with Hassidim (Ultra-Orthodox) and thier music is emotional since it was written to appeal to G-d.

The article is superficial, and treats something that requires much more space in a mere few paragraphs. Hopefully, you or I or others can do better!
