The JPost has a very interesting article regarding a fish from Iran. It is called shabut in Arabic, the fish lives in the rivers of Iraq and Syria as well as Iran. this fish evidently taste exactly like pork. They believe this fish to be the same one mentioned in Talmud at various points and it to says that it taste like pork. For all you pork lovers here is a new possible option should it be made readily available.
