Where did the Cantors go? Should we bring them back?

I wrote about a conversation I had about cantors here. I would like to bring your attention to this very interesting post here. I believe that ultimately people don't have the capacity to sit and listen to a real cantor. Certainly not in this fast paced TV era. What does TV have to do with it you ask? There is an argument that TV has made people more impatient with the ability to see frames change so rapidly and with the invention of the remote.
