Haaretz reports Jewish activists their intention to start a large scale campaign for the rights of rights of former Jewish refugees from Arab countries. Targets would be the media, Jewish organizations, and 14 different countries. The campaign would record and publicize "the mass violations of human rights suffered by Jews under Arab and document the loss of extensive communal and individual assets." Lets see how the UN reacts.

Awesome- that's a truly needed campaign. I happen to be reading a book by Joan Peters that deals with that issue. Israel absorbed as many "Arab" (Jews from Arab states) refugees as arab (Palestinian/JOrdanian) refugees who fled or were ordered to leave. THis argument is often not stressed b/c it looks like Israel is justifying its displacing the Palestinians and JOrdanians living west of the Jordan. Israel doesnt have to justify its military actions. It is however, necessary to make known the plight of oriental jewry.
