Political Scene: Obama, Clinton and McCain

Obama is sure picking up speed raising $40 million in just March alone and it will be interesting to see what kind of numbers Hillary comes up with. Meanwhile one of Hillary supporters, Sen. Corzine (Dem NJ) says Hillary needs to win big in PA is she wants to consider winning the nomination. I guess she doesn't think believe that that's possible as she stated herself: it will be a tight race at the very least. Deciding that Hillary's campaign was too negative New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson backed Obama's camp, he denies that he ever "promised" to back the Clinton campaign and the battle continues. Interesting story on McCain is that he's not asking for any protection from the Secret Service despite his lock on the GOP nomination. The Senator claims the protection would hinder his ability to reach out to the public. Is he being macho here? You be the judge. Meanwhile Hillary Clinton is still trying to get her delegates in Florida and Michigan to count as this becomes a bigger mess with every passing day. In North Carolina Hillary is running a different type of TV ad requesting that voters ask her"anything and everything". Hillary, you may want to take the same advise you gave Rush Limbaugh: Be careful what you wish for (or in this case what you ask for).

McCain:Trying to Score with Jewish Voters

Presidential hopeful Senator McCain, threw his hat into the Israeli peace process while speaking at the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. He stated that any peace process must be handled step-by-step. He smartly pointed out:I’m not sure frankly how you, how you deal with Hamas. If they’re dedicated to your extinction it’s hard to sit down and negotiate with somebody that says we’re going to destroy you." It's good to know that on some level McCain seems to grasp some of the big hurdles the peace process poses. Although he scored points with the group, he didn't quite measure up to the tough talking Rudy Guiliani:They respect (McCain) and they appreciate him, but I have to imagine, it’s not, it’s not like love in the room in the same way that it would be for Guiliani” said Ami Eden, a journalist with a Jewish wire service.
