Harry Potter and The Sabbath Violations!

I was unaware of this:the release of the new Harry Potter book must take place at the very same time all around the world. In Israel that means it falls out on Shabbos which is causing some problems. Trade Minister Eli Yishai has threatened to fine any business that stays open on the sabbath.

Avraham Ravitz of the United Torah Judaism Party slammed the Potter books for their "defective messages."We don't have to be dragged like monkeys after the world with this subculture, and certainly not while violating our holy Sabbath," Ravitz said in a statement.
