P'sak Halachah: It's ok to daven for yomim noroim

I have had a couple of calls to daven for the High Holidays. I had asked the Rabbi in my family and he felt it could be problematic since an avel is not supposed to daven for the amud typically on a yom tov. After looking into it further both he and Rabbi Dovid Kohen said it's not an issue so I may be taking probeh (audition) very soon. We'll see....
