Donna, Barr and Shirley....these are just some of a list of Jewish names banned by some Israeli Rabbis. Names such as:Hitler,G-d and Bin Laden have already been barred by Israel's Interior Ministry in it's population files. The article points out some interesting reasons for this ban, including the negative implications of a name or naming your child after an angel such as Ariel, which could beckon an angel namesake instead, drawing down his wrath.
