Very few people have had an impact on Jewish music the way Shlomo Carlebach has. His tunes are true classics that's why they are continually played at weddings as other tunes are left behind for newer material. His melodies have familiarity to all Jews ranging from the hasidic to the most unaffiliated. The Young Israel of Sharon will be hosting a shabbat in tribute to Rabbi Shlomo Carlbach's 11th Yartzeit. Guests will include: Rabbi Gedaliah and Rebbetzin Zehava Druin, Rabbi Gedaliah Fleer, Rabbi Avraham Newman, Rebbetzin Chaya Poretsky, Rabbi Dovid Staloff, Rabbi Moshe Stepansky, Rabbi Nossen and Rebbetzin Channah Schafer and, in from Israel to lead the singing and dancing, Benzion Solomon of the Moshav Band.
