They camped overnight in a shelter when they realized they could not get back to their car before dark.They started hiking down the mountain this morning and got into cell phone range. Ruchi's mother kept trying to contact them on their cell phone finally reached them.

No offense but as my wife pointed out that's very irresponsible not to mention all the people that were inconvenienced to go up there to search. When you go hiking you should make sure there is enough time to get back before the sun sets.
