New York Times reports Meir Sassoon ( what a chillul hashem) plead guilty to 26 counts of medicaid fraud. He was guilty of stealing $400,000 in fraudalent biiling of rides to doctors etc. The way in which this fraud was found is very disheartening Eliot Spitzer's office STUMBLED upon it when a patient contacted them after receiving an explanation of benefits in the mail from the state Department of Health and saw that Medicaid was being billed for unused rides.
Spitzer has been critized for not doing enough to combat medicaid fraud.It's my understanding the Spitzer has 300 employees whose sole job is dealing with Medicaid fraud and THIS is how they found about it?! There certainly is something very wrong here.
