Introducing the shabbos scooter!

Yes it's true someone has developed a shabbos scooter. The scooter which when switched into Sabbath mode, activates a timer that automatically sets the chair in motion. The user may put the chair in reverse by flipping another switch, which again triggers a timing mechanism and changes the scooter's direction. In each case, the timer takes about 20 seconds to engage. There are no headlights but as you can imagine it would probably be allowed only for people who are sick etc.

There is no way, on G-d's green earth, that any frum people are going to use this thing. I think he actually will know what the word failure means very soon.

It's like watching tv on shabbos, only setting the timer to come on when your favorite show starts and goes off when its done. No rav in America will allow it. This guy must be smoking some pretty strong stuff.

At least the Shabbos lamp has a chance. But this ? lol ...

No dispute there. It is funny though.

I have a few rebellious secular friends who would love this thing, just to stick their middle finger up at the religious community, so to speak.

I doubt they would dish out that kind of dough just to flip the birdy.
