Getting married soon?Avoid a musical catastrophe
Recently I had booked a wedding and was to sing as well. You can appreciate my annoyance when I found out the drummer did not show up yet. I didn't have his number but as soon as I did I called. Bottom line: he was not even aware he was playing that night. I don't want to get into the reason for the mixup, here is the bottom line. Make certain that all the musicians are called the day of your affair to be reminded about it and it's location ( something you can do yourself if the orchestra will not). This musician luckily had not booked himself for another affair but was almost on his way out before I caught him. He showed up late but right after the chupah (which thankfully did not start on time). The wedding was a big success and the client was very happy.

you are obviously not a professional booker or bandleader, because everyone knows (and im an amateur) that you call all who are to participate the day before to ensure that everyone is aware of time location, directions etc. You soud like a loser to be at a gig and not even have an essential bandmember's phone number.
I don't know who you are anon but you are obviously a coward ..hence you you are anon. The truth is the following I was not the bandleader nor did I contract the musicians. Being that this was on a sunday contacting them on shabbos would be somewhat inappropriate. they had called him the week prior to confirm location and time but that was not enough for this guy evidently.
if he is a coward for being anony, ous, what does that make you, mr blogmeister?
such mean-spirited comments
Blogmeister, thanks for the info, for some reason, I've never experienced this problem, recent chasunas have been using a one-man band, one of the best, and a real mentsh too
Dopey-I'm talking about a blog were I can post a comment back where he will certainly get it. I don't care to know who that guy is.
A yid- good to know, I'm sure he's great.
My opinion is that you can't compare a great band to a one man..but that doesn't mean there aren't great one man players.
As great as some of the keyboards are,
I prefer having a real horn section.
