What doesAndy Statman and Matisyahu have in common other than the music business?
Answer: They are both religious orthodox Jews who have signed with Sony records (perhaps the only ones). Perhaps these two will put out an album together under Sony. That certainly would be interesting. Considering they both have connections to Chabbad: Matisyahu is Lubavitch and Andy has released an album of Lubavitch melodies (yet another connection), you never know. Don't hold your breath but it would certainly make waves if it did come about. Imagine a combination of reggae and klezmer....

I think a joint album is a great idea. However, I think they should hold out a bit longer (perhaps a few more months or even years) before they do that because I feel that they should first grow their own popularity. I feel that both are only getting started on their music path.
Well perhaps although I doubt Andy will become anymore famous than he is. Perhaps Matisyahu could but he's got so much press lately what would be the point in waiting Yrs or even a few more months?
