Itzhak Perlman..a new compilation!

Jerusalem Post reports that EMI has released a new compilation CD of the one fo the world's most renowned Jewish violinist: Yitzhak Pearlman.

Fourteen of the pieces were taken from Perlman's previous CDs of Jewish music (also released on the EMI label), with all-time favorites such as "Rozhinkes mit Mandeln" ("Raisins and Almonds"), "Sholom Aleichem," "Golem Tants" and others.

The two others tracks are from the famous Schindler's List soundtrack, in which Perlman plays the plaintive music by John Williams.

"As a child who grew up in Israel," writes Perlman in the disc's cover notes, "I heard klezmer music on the radio. When I moved to the US, this music came with me. More than any music I've ever recorded, it's 'my' music."
