Jerusalem Post reports a strange story about an agunah who barricaded herself today inside the offices of the High Rabbinic Court. Orit Sharabi said she is not leaving till she receives her get (divorce).
Her lawyer seems to be egging her on saying "The only way we are leaving is handcuffed". A very intense situation indeed.

I hope she brought a bodyguard. The rabbinate has been (allegedly) close to some rough stuff these days (like in the next room). Good luck to her.
Ms. Sharabi is NOT an agunah. She and her husband were just about to sign the divorce agreement a while back, with a get to follow immediately, when Sharabi's counsel told her not to sign. Had she done the right thing, she would be a free woman today.
That's nice of you to say but the report states:
Sharabi, who has been waiting for a get for four years, hoped that she would finally be divorced from her husband, who was convicted but not yet sentenced two weeks ago on charges of child abuse.
This guy doesn't sound like an upstanding
citizen. Why would she not sign? I'm not sure your story makes sense.
