Baptist turned Jew? I think not....

This story discusses the author's grappling with the fact that she loved
Judaism but felt torn by leaving her church. In reading this story it
seems she converted to become a reformed Jew. I'm wondering how
quickly she would have convertedif she wouldhave to take on all the
restrictions of Orthodoxy. Being that in the eyes of Orthodoxy her
conversion is like taking a bath, she is indeed still a gentile. The one
part of the article that puzzles me however, is this part of the article:

"Every week I studied with a Hasidic Rabbi. I attended numerous
seders, ate in a sukkah during Sukkot, and danced at dozens of celebrations.
"

I just can't see a Hasidic Rabbi studying with a gentile woman
or even one who has had a reformed conversion. Perhaps she
just attended a speech given by the Rabbi and was in the women's section?
