Rabbi Yisroel Belsky: Speaking Out on Music Ban?

I'm not even sure that the yeshiva world has this information yet:It is public knowledge that the latest ban of the the "Big Event" has unfortunately given many a reason to lose faith in "daas torah". I was told by a very reliable source that Rabbi Yisroel Belsky is getting ready to publish a response to this ban in a Jewish Newspaper to be named shortly. The reason for the response: he never signed the kol koreh (shocked?!). I haven't looked that deeply into the whole episode regarding how much of a forgery it was but I always suspected as usual it was a lie to some degree. Now if Rabbi Belsky did not sign it, how much more likely that many others did not. I await to see this letter and the reaction it receives. There is no question that things of this nature should be left to one's own Rabbi to decide.

If in fact he did not sign it, then why the long delay in making it known.

Great question. I didn't ask him myself but I was told he was formulating his response and finding a paper he felt should carry it. The truth though I'm not sure that's exactly the correct answer.

I hope you will kind enough to send me the printed article or link if/when it is printed. I can write about it then.

But, if Rabbi Belsky and others did not sign the ban, they need to be tough with the economic terrorist and sue them until they taste a bit of their own medicine. I read different accounts, but a larger and smaller amounts of money were lost from many sources and the only ones who should have to bear the brunt are those that started the whole mess. If heads don't role, there will still be growing cynicism and lack of trust and rightfully so.

It reminds me of 1984 when Reb Moshe told the guys that found bugs in the vegetables to be quiet.

Do you know why he asked them to be quiet? Becasue he know that there would be many that would either not care or check properly and therefore knowinly eat bugs.

These, guys, of course, did not listen and it became a huge blown up issue and the amount of rabbis on either side...OMG! No wonder people are weary even without forgery!

Believe what you want but I guess when it is published as I have been told by an insider it will be quite surprised. I'm not sure why it would shock you, this is not the first time this has happened.
