Ancient Shark Filmed in Japan: Freaky...

A prehistoric-looking shark that usually swims in deep water was found by a fisherman in a bay in Japan this week. The razor-toothed, eel-like creature was a frill shark, a species rarely seen alive at sea level.Sea-life experts think the five-foot-long, 16 1/2 -pound female shark surfaced because she was not well. The shark was taken to a marine park south of Tokyo but died a few hours later.Frill sharks are named for the tissue jutting out of their six gill slits. Their body shape and number of gills are similar to sharks that lived 350 million years ago.
