Country Yossi Magazine: Real Change or More of the Same?

Surprisingly enough, Country Yossi Magazine has decided to change it's famous (or infamous) top 10 selling Jewish Cd's list. For the longest time bloggers like myself and Life-of-Rubin were upset with the sometimes obvious favoritism toward advertisers giving them a #1 spot. Country Yossi Magazine didn't actually apologize or admit it had done anything wrong but rather claimed it would improve it's rating system and make it as unbiased as possible. Time will tell...

Living as a Jew In Texas: Part 3

Well it certainly has been a real experience moving to the lone star state from the big apple. It's so interesting to see how different life can be when one moves south. Take today for example: we were wondering where to take the kids on Memorial Day. Anywhere I would take my kids in NY it was sure to be packed and whatever activity it would be, chances are it was a nightmare waiting to happen. My wife decided to check out a local park downtown: Discovery Green Park. For starters the park is free and parking is very inexpensive (street parking is $1.25 an hr that accepts credit cards or $5 for an outdoor lot) and it has fantastic features for the little ones. We kept mostly to the outdoor sprinklers of which there where 2 different kinds. The one you see pictured here had fountains that popped up at various different intervals and strengths and the other was a big structure you simply sat under while the water rains down on you. All in all a very enjoyable outing. Unlike NY you could actually enjoy it ,even though there were people there you didn't feel like a pack of sardines. The next time you are in Houston make sure to check it out.

Terror in NY: Barack Obama Fights Terrorists

By now you are most likely familiar with the FBI bust of a terrorist plot to bomb Jewish centers in Riverdale, NY as well as get their hands on stinger missiles to shoot down planes at the nearby Air National Guard Base at Stewart Airport. The FBI had been onto this terrorist group since June of 2008 and had sold them fake explosives which is what they were caught using. On that same note, Barack Obama is trying to sell us on the idea that using tough interrogation tactics don't work and actually weaken our security. He would like to close Guantanamo Bay citing that if we treated our enemies better they in turn may release our hostages and treat them more humanely.
We can argue back and forth about whether or not those tactics were effective but I think it's quite niave to think that our troops will be treated more fairly by these animals under any circumstances.

Kosher Grilling: Got My Grill!

When you don't feel like spending a lot of money finding a good gas grill can be tough. You can always try your luck at craigslist but then you have to clean and kasher it and that can be a real pain. Also there are no refunds or warranties. We all know Weber makes some of the best grills but not everyone can afford to plunk $500 plus bucks ( sure they make cheaper ones but they only have 2 burners and little space to grill). Now that I live in Texas, grilling is the law. The question became which grill could I afford that would last longer than a couple of months before it rusted out? Now I had done some extensive research for my first gas grill. The grill that I had originally purchased from Lowes via a 10% coupon was a bbq grillware for just $169.00. It did a decent enough job but I felt it took too long for it to get up to 500 degrees especially if it wasn't warm outside. Part of the problem I believe, stemmed from the cheap metal used for the grill lid. It just wasn't keeping in the heat enough. After reading several reviews I settled on the Char Griller: Grillin' Pro 3001. The biggest complaint was the assembly so I left that to the people at Lowes. I'll keep you posted on my latest purchase.

Obama: Wishing Rush Limbaugh Dead?

There was a tremendous outcry to remarks made by Rush Limbaugh saying he wanted Obama to fail. Rush explained he meant that he wanted his policies to fail because he believes them to be socialist.
There remains to be seen if any outcry will be made over the video presentation below where comedian Wanda Sykes lays it on thick to Rush Limbuagh saying she "hopes his kidney fail" as the president laughs seemingly agreeing and wishing that Limbaugh truly were dead...hard to interpret this any other way folks. Watch and judge for yourself.
