Kosher IPhone Apps?

Zalman Goldstein (of The Jewish Learning Group) has released two free apps for the iPhone and iTouch. Here are the 2 apps:

1) iBlessing

Press a food type on the placemat and see the associated blessing's name pop up. Release your finger and hear the blessing pronounced for you slowly and clearly, word-for-word, enabling you to repeat after it and learn the blessing on your own!

2) ParveOMeter

Am I "Dairy"? Am I "Meaty"?

A program of Biblical proportion, the PARVE-O-METER will help you keep track of the waiting times between eating meat or dairy, or dairy and meat.

*Press the “Meat” button when you have finished eating meat or meat products, and the timer counts down the requisite 6 hours before you can eat or drink dairy products.

*Press the “Dairy” button when you have finished eating dairy or dairy products, and the timer counts down the requisite 0, 30, or 60 minutes (depending on the custom of your local Jewish community) before you can eat meat products again.

*Set your waiting period preferences based on the custom of your local Jewish community.

iMenorah: A menorah lighting application for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch!

By downloading iMenorah, you are also supporting San Francisco's local Jewish Community. We will be donating a portion of the proceeds to a local San Francisco Jewish charity. Please stay tuned to our website - more details will be posted once we make the donation.

The app is a lot of fun, and you'll even catch Mike singing the blessings (bruchas) for each night of Chanukah - right from your iPhone or iPod Touch! You can light the candles with the touch of your finger. Take part in the century-old tradition of lighting the Hanukkah candles... now available at your fingertips. :)

We thank you for your support, and for supporting San Francisco's Jewish community.

For more details and a link to the download on iTunes, please see the webpage here:

Cheers!

iParashah is the ultimate source that brings to your iPhone/iPod Touch all you need to know about each week’s Torah portion, as well as a Gregorian to Hebrew date converter. All is beautifully presented with an easy to use interface.
