Migrane Drug May Pave the Way to Beating Addiction!

A Migrane Drug, topiramate has been shown to offer help to alcoholics. The drug combined with15-minute counseling sessions cut down the drinking habit by about 50%. Side effects, including dizziness, tingling and numbness, fatigue, insomnia, nervousness and diarrhea, caused 34 of the 183 in the topiramate group to drop out of the study, compared with six in the placebo group. There is still a lot of work to do here but this could be a step toward ridding people of addictions in general.
