The Shlissel Challah Story.....

As some of you may have been aware this past shabbos there was a custom to bake Shlissel Challah. Shlissel Challah is a Challah which is baked with a key inside or on top of it. The main reason being it is a segulah (special property or sign) for livelihood. Shlissel Challah may have some adverse effects on your life if your not careful. Fri morning my sister-in-law was fast asleep when she hears someone banging on the door. Not expecting anyone she simply ignored it. The banging however did not cease and became exceedingly more insistent. Finally throwing something on, she ran to the door and yelled "whose there"! It was her husband. "Don't you have key?", She growled. Yes but I left it in the challah.....

that's funny. I was actually worried my wife put keys in more than the challas we cut and we would end up sticking a challa with a key in the freezer or something and never see it again...
