If you have a friend or family member with an infant car seat, make sure they read this! Consumer Reports has just reviewed 12 cars seats 10 of which failed it's safety standards which went a bit beyond the federal standards. Why should you care? Federal standards are for 30 MPH crashes, that's it! Consumer Reports only raised the bar to 38 MPH and 10 of those car seats failed. One car seat in particular namely the Evenflo Discovery model, unlatched during the accident! This report is very serious and will hopefully raise the current federal safety standards. You should contact your own senator and elected officials to push for higher safety standards for these seats that carry our future. We have just returned our car seat which we recently purchased and are buying a new one that passed the standards set by CR. I hope you will pass this news on to your friends and family as it has tremendous consequences.
