On my vacation time I came across a huge fiasco in the Monsey area. There is big problem and it's entire story has yet to come to light but I will give you as many details that are available to me. The problem involves a store on W. Maple Ave near rt.45 called Hatzlocha grocery. Inside the store is a meat section known as "Shevach Meats". The hashgacha on the store is given by Rabbi Breslauer who caught the problem: poultry found not in it's original packaging bought on Tues. or Wed. ( Aug 29,30) must be considered treif! Consequently any pots, grills etc. that came in contact with it must not be used until properly koshered and have their status determined by a competent halachic authority ( this notice came from Rabbi Meir Benzion Levi of the KAJ of Monsey). Many questions are running around the area and many rumors as you can imagine. There are so many stories no one is certain what to make of the situation only that it is not good. Satmar is holding a tehillim and teshuva meeting in response to this tarfus outbreak. You may not remember but a similar situation happened in Flatbush not that long ago on Ave J. The store in question was Kosher spot and they sold meats to restaurants as well. I will try to keep you updated as this story unfolds. There is also supposed to be a hotline for anyone with information regarding this poultry. Stay tuned...
