Israel’s chief Sephardi Rabbi, Shlomo Amar is calling upon China to recognize Judaism. The Rabbi was in Shanghai recently when he made this request. Considering that few Jews if any live there it's mostly a symbolic gesture. One I doubt China would be interested in.
