Fashion and Judaism....

The Forward has an interesting article on the NY fashion scene's hot young star: Levi Okunov. A Jew with next to no fashion training who is creating the hottest fashions in women coats. The fact that he was born and raised in the Lubavitch community in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, and speaks Yiddish fluently seems to come as a big surprise to many. The article interestingly points out that there were many orthodox Jews that came to a particular fashion show recently where Levi was showing his wears:When asked why they had come to a show in which the models were not dressed modestly, all of them responded: "Because of Levi."
