Jewish groups not happy with Alito....who cares?

JTA reports that some Jewish groups such as the Union for Reform Judaism has reiterated thier oppositon to the Alito nomination. Being that his nomination is practially in the bag, I'm uncertain what the point of these statements are. The Agudath Israel of America has endorsed Alito’s nomination and I look forward to seeing him on the supreme court soon.

I live in a city where the only synagogue is Reform. Unfortunately, while I pray, I have to listen to people kvetch about Bush and the conservatives. So, I'm not surprised by their opposition. I hope he's confirmed, but I also hope I don't have to hear about it during shabbat services.
