Can I get an Islamic loan please?

It probably should be agianst the law but the AP reports about the creation of Muslims home financing by University Islamic Financial Corp.. Where is the ACLU on this one? Can you imagine if there was a University Jewish Financial Corp.?

This is because of an Islamic halakhic, I mean Shari'ic need. There are indeed Jewish Financial Corps. They are called "Gemachs" or "Free Loan Societies."

I figured someone would say that. I was actually expecting The Town Crier but you beat him to it. The "free loan societies" such as JFLA.org openly say they are available to Jews and non-Jews alike. Having a gemach is quite different from having a Publicly held company that caters to religion. I guess if I wanted that loan I might be able to get iteven if I'm not muslim.

If you believe that most Gemachs would loan to needy non-Jews I've got a bridge to sell you.

Granted. If you don't like it then you don't need to invest.
