Yes the big intro story this morning is the Presidents naming of
Judge Samuel Alito to the Supreme court. The media is hungry to point out the timing of this choice is so important to the President. With the latest snafu of Hariet Miers and the indictment of Scooter Libby (who the President is now being pressured to apologizefor), perhaps he's trying to get the focus elsewhere. He is certainly more in line with the current supreme court judges as far as his schooling is concerned. He's a pure bred Ivy league which Miers was not. The issue will not be how qualified he is but rather a strictly political decision as to whether he gets to the bench.
