Being out of Brooklyn for a few years has put me out of the loop regarding a lot of big time issues such as Rabbi Slifkin's books.
This whole ban was brought to my attention VIA a modern-orthodox-yeshivish guy. I just spoke with my father who happens to be a chavrusa with Rabbi Dovid Cohen-
a prominent Posek,(who as it turns out is not a Kohen) who was steaming with anger at the whole ban. It should be interesting to see how this all pans out.
