Boruch Dayan Emes

I was in shul this morning when the Rabbi mentioned that Rabbi Portnoy the Rabbi of theYoung Israel of Plainview has passed away. Plainview is a growing MO community. I had look into moving there but it's a bit too MO for me.He must have been in his early Fifties. I still have yet to hear what happened. If you know, fill me in.
